Jaron Post, Ashley Duderstadt and Elvis Ruiz started the Pearl Snaps Band in July of 2012. Their sound includes country, alternative and folk. Since the formation of the Pearl Snaps, they have played Troubador’s Dancehall in Cuero, Valentino’s in San Marcos as well as a number of private parties. They also opened for the Casey Donahew Band, Corey Morrow, and Texas Tornados at the 2012 Cuero Turkeyfest.
Ashley Duderstadt started playing music professionally at the age of sixteen with the Bobby Allen Jones Band. She graduated from Texas State University San Marcos with a bachelors degree in vocal performance with a minor in mass communication. During college, she participated in various music ensembles including opera workshop and the Texas State Chorale. In 2005, she went on a European tour with the Texas State Chorale that made stops in Hungary, Austria, and the Czech Republic. From 2005 to 2007, Ashley was the female vocalist for Smokey Wilson and the Texas Highway band. During this time, she opened for Junior Brown, Max Stalling, and Jarrod Birmingham. In December of 2008, Ashley transitioned from country and blues bands to playing acoustic performances at local venues to allow her to focus on originals, folk and rock music. In August of 2009, she formed the group called Mindset which later changed its name to 7 Year Crush. Ashley has been invited to play at the Yoakum Tom Tom festival and Cuero Turkeyfest.
Jaron Post started playing music at the age of 15. Although he started out playing rock music, his sound has evolved to include modern and classic country. His musical inspiration is derived from Alan Jackson, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Joe Nichols, and George Straight. Jaron made his professional debut with The Jaron Post Band in 2011 as lead vocalist and guitarist. Jaron’s former band played at various venues throughout the Crossroads area including Troubadors, D&E Party Barn, Club Westerner, The Oak Room and The Mission Valley Barn. The Jaron Post Band also made an appearance at the Fool’s Folly Festival in Yorktown.
Elvis Lee Ruiz has been playing music since he was a kid. He started playing guitar in the church at the age of 8, and later became interested in playing drums at the age of 13. He first started playing professionally with the band Real Country at the age of 13 as well. He continued to play with various bands for several years. He also discovered jazz band while in high school and placed in numerous competitions. Elvis has played a wide variety of music from country and christian, to rock and heavy metal. Some previous projects he has taken part in include Rain, Article 13, Faltered, 7 Year Crush, and South Texas Country. His musical influences include Breaking Benjamin, Incubus, George Strait, Chris Young, and Blake Shelton.
